Annual Conference for the Australian Freshwater Sciences Society (AFSS)

2022

AFSS was established in 1961, and is the peak scientific society for the study of the ecology and functioning of Australian inland waters. In 2022, I was a speaker at the AFSS annual conference, where I presented my PhD research. I won the best presentation for that year.

The Melbourne Research Scholarship is a highly competitive scholarship program that is generously offered by the University of Melbourne to high-achieving Doctor of Philosophy Candidates. The scholarship commenced in 2018 to support original research in the field of environmental management in the Murray Darling Basin over a period of four years.

The Commonwealth Government, Australia

2018

The Australian Research Training Program Scholarship is offered by the Australian Commonwealth Government to Doctor of Philosophy Candidates in designated institutes and avenues of science and technology. The research must be beneficial for Australia’s long-term economic growth and societal well being. This scholarship commenced in 2018 to support original research in the field of freshwater ecology in the Murray Darling Basin over a period of four years.

British Standards Institute, United Kingdom

2014

The Lead Auditor accreditation is offered by the British Standards Institute and awarded by Royal Charter. The institute is the national standards body of the United Kingdom, and recognizes qualified executives with a track record of effective direction of organizational performance at an international scale. The accreditation was obtained over a period of 3 years during the creation, audit and qualification of civil engineering quality management systems in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where independent third party accreditation was necessary to obtain ISO 9001 status during the delivery of urban development services.

VETASSESS Vocational Assessment, Australia

2012

The Urban and Regional Planner accreditation was offered by VETASSESS, Australia’s leading vocational education and training (VET) assessment provider. The accreditation was obtained over a period of 5 years, with the final award based upon federal recognition of academic and professional achievements in the field of sustainable urban development, including publication and presentation of papers in International Conferences within Australia and South-East Asia.

The Australian National University, Australia

2009

The ANU Research Program Scholarship was generously offered by the Australian National University to scientists conducting original research in the field of environmental science.  This award commenced in 2009 to support original research in the fields of fire ecology and environmental management in South Australian National Parks

The University of East Anglia, United Kingdom

2007

At the time of selection, the Faculty of Science Scholarship was the most prestigious and competitive scholarship scheme offered by the University of East Anglia (UK). The award commenced in 2007 to support study and training at the School of Environmental Sciences. At the time of application and in 2014, the school was ranked first in the UK during the National Research Excellence Framework Exercise for global impact of research in the field of environmental science.
